Hello all Jenn here! Happy Independence day to all of you in the United States. I pray you are all enjoying time this summer with your families and friends celebrating our freedom in Christ. I really wanted to celebrate this holiday in my Bible so I opened it up to Matthew 17:20 and jumped into a very fun festive two page spread.
First I started by using masking fluid, and washi tape which is what I used to keep areas on my pages white that I wanted as highlights. If you don’t have masking fluid you can go back over the page when you are done painting your sky with white acrylic paint. After blocking in my highlights I throughly wetted the page and used my Koi watercolor set. I chose a black and dark blue across the background to create a dark night sky. Be really carefully when wetting your page not to tug too hard rips happen really really easy when the page is soaked. Once throughly dry I went in with my stamping and hand lettering. I used the letters and ampersand from just my type as well as the words ‘shine’ and ‘brave’ from the worthy stamp set. Next I gently rubbed off the masking fluid and started to drop in some fun bright colors for the fireworks. Finally I finished up with some letter stickers a tab as well some adorable red, white and blue hearts. Feeling it needed a little sparkle I threw some stars from the swirls and stars set that I embossed in clear sparkles to add some fun glittery glow to the page.
I hope my page inspires you to let your faith shine bright, brave and free! I would love to see your pages feel free to use the #sonshinestampco on instagram and join our Facebook group Sonshine Stamping. Also go check out the fun new stamps that just hit the shop this week ….seriously adorable!
